Equity in Education

We know there’s data about Atlanta Schools out there and we appreciate their existence. But what we’ve also seen is that it can be a struggle to go through the data when you don’t know what you’re looking for. So, we’ve (hopefully) made the process easier for you — if you’re a caregiver looking for a school, an educator just curious about the data or a journalist looking to cover a story this will help serve that purpose. Just hover over the map to find your cluster.

FAQ

We know data about APS is already out there. What isn’t out there is an accessible way for parents to look at a map, find their cluster and take a look at easily navigable data and choose a school for their child based on equity. While the map is primarily to serve parents, we also know that the quality of our schools impacts every Atlantan so we wanted to make the data accessible for educators, researchers, business owners, grandparents, millennial transplants–the entire village should know how our schools are performing. Equity in Atlanta starts with our schools.

It is about schools, but the reality is elected officials play a significant role in determining the quality of our schools. This November, Atlantans will have the opportunity to vote for schoolboard. This equity data tool will help give you the information you need to know how your board representative is doing when it comes to schools in your district

  • For parents/caregivers: Find a school based on equity.
  • For educators: See where your school ranks.
  • For researchers/media: Get the full picture and key takeaways on how APS is performing when it comes to equity.
  • For voters: Find your cluster and hold your APS board representative accountable this November at the polls.
